We met online in 2017 and quickly bonded over our shared sense of humor (we still can’t agree on who’s actually the funniest), love of animals, and common interests. After a month of chatting, we had planned to meet on a weekend, but Alex got impatient and suggested we meet earlier. On March 8th, International Women’s Day, we did - and little did we know that day would be the start of something truly special.

We’ve built a home together in Denmark, blending our lives and traditions into something uniquely ours. Barbara has found not just a partner but a family in Denmark, just as Alex has found a second family in Italy. From learning how to cook traditional Abruzzese dishes to celebrating the Danish Sankt Hans tradition together, our lives have become a beautiful mix of two worlds.

Fast forward to Christmas 2023, our first holiday together in Italy with Barbara’s family. We started joking about marriage, and by Valentine’s Day, Alex decided to turn the joke into reality and proposed. Less than a month later, on our anniversary, Barbara surprised Alex by proposing back during a dinner at Café Ulla Terkelsen London in our home base, Aalborg.

By the time we say “I do” on August 30th, 2025, we’ll have been together for over eight years. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
